Golfers should expect a certain level of performance from the clothing they choose to wear, depending on the weather and course conditions, their preferred style and whether they walk or ride a cart. The clothes must be quiet, easy to wear, easy to swing in, and should enhance the player’s comfort. When playing in hot, humid weather the clothes should wick moisture, dry quickly and provide ventilation. When carrying clubs, the clothes should stand up to abrasion from the bag straps, and offer low-bulk layering under the straps. If it’s full-Scottish conditions they need to be easy to don and doff, over shoes and underlayers, and provide the ultimate in weather protection and comfort. Ideally, the clothes fade into the background of the golfer’s experience, allowing complete focus on the game.
